About Cary Davis
I’m a personal trainer, licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, endurance athlete, and lifelong outdoor enthusiast with more than 20 years of experience in fitness, coaching, and helping people become stronger and more capable.
My goal with Aspire for Adventure is simple: to help people build the strength, fitness, and confidence to do more of the things they want to do—whether that means feeling stronger in everyday life, improving their fitness, or preparing for a hiking or backpacking adventure.
More Than 20 Years in Fitness, Coaching & Adventure
Fitness, movement, and outdoor adventure have been a major part of my life for more than 20 years. I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Health & Fitness Management, where I competed as a collegiate swimmer and qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials. My background in competitive athletics later led me to Ironman triathlons, running, hiking, backpacking, and other endurance challenges.
My professional experience has taken me through fitness, rehabilitation, education, and outdoor leadership. I’m a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, and I’ve also worked as an aquatics director, teacher, fitness instructor, and wilderness trip leader. Those experiences have allowed me to work with people of different ages, abilities, backgrounds, and goals.
Adventure has also been a big part of my life outside of work. While living and teaching in Singapore, I had the opportunity to trek in Nepal, backpack through New Zealand, compete in endurance events throughout Southeast Asia and Australia, and travel extensively throughout the region. During summers, I worked as a wilderness trip leader in the United States and Canada, leading outdoor trips and helping others build confidence through adventure and physical challenge.
My Approach to Training
My approach to personal training is shaped by experience in several different areas—strength and fitness, rehabilitation, endurance sports, coaching, and outdoor adventure. I’ve seen firsthand that there isn’t one type of training that works for everyone.
I focus on building programs around the individual: where you’re starting, what you want to accomplish, the equipment and time you have available, and what you’ll realistically be able to maintain. Training should be challenging, but it should also have a purpose.
Whether someone wants to get stronger, improve overall fitness, stay active as they get older, or prepare for a demanding hiking or backpacking trip, my goal is to help them build the strength, endurance, and confidence they need for what they actually want to do.

Adventure Has Always Been Part of the Picture
For me, fitness has never just been about working out. It has always been connected to what being fit allows you to do.
Living and working overseas gave me the opportunity to trek in Nepal, backpack through New Zealand, travel throughout Southeast Asia, and compete in endurance events in different parts of the world. I’ve also spent summers leading wilderness trips in the United States and Canada and continue to enjoy hiking, running, backpacking, and exploring the outdoors.
Those experiences are a big part of why I created Aspire for Adventure. I believe training is most meaningful when it helps you do more outside of the gym—whether that’s taking on a challenging hike, traveling somewhere you’ve always wanted to go, keeping up with an active lifestyle, or simply feeling stronger and more capable in everyday life.
