It’s been a while. A long while. As I sit down to write this blog post, I can’t help but feel a mixture of emotions—relief, apprehension, and a tinge of guilt for having been absent for so long. But here I am, ready to share a bit of my journey with you.

For those who have been following my blog, you may have noticed my absence. Truth be told, I took an unplanned hiatus from my website and writing blogs. It wasn’t a decision I made lightly, nor was it something I had planned. It just happened. Shit happens.

You see, not too long ago, I hit a rough patch. I poured my heart and soul into my website, crafting valuable content and workout programs tailored for hiking enthusiasts like you. But despite my efforts, it felt like my words were echoing into an empty void. The lack of traffic and engagement left me feeling discouraged and defeated. It was hard not to take it personally, questioning whether my content was even making a difference.

Then life took an unexpected turn when I landed a new job—a wonderful opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. However, with the excitement of a new career path came the reality of time constraints. My days became consumed with learning the ropes, tackling new challenges, and striving to excel in my role.

On top of that, the demands of family life escalated. Balancing work commitments with the ever-growing schedules of my kids became a juggling act. From school events to extracurricular activities, it felt like there was always something vying for my attention.

Amid this whirlwind, I lost sight of something crucial—my well-being. The days blurred together as I prioritized everything and everyone else above myself. Working out, once a cherished part of my routine, became a distant memory. Self-care took a backseat as I poured all my energy into keeping up with the demands of life.

But here’s the thing I’ve come to realize: neglecting oneself is not sustainable. It’s like trying to pour from an empty cup. As I navigated through the chaos, I gradually understood the importance of carving out time for self-care.

It’s not selfish; it’s necessary. Whether it’s a brisk walk in the morning, a gym session in the evening, or simply taking a moment to breathe, prioritizing self-care is essential for maintaining balance and preserving mental well-being.

Life will undoubtedly throw curveballs, and there will be days when the chaos threatens to overwhelm. But amidst the busyness, I’ll strive to find moments of tranquility, nurture my soul, and remember that it’s okay to prioritize myself.

So, I’m committing—to myself and you.. I’m rekindling my passion for writing, sharing stories, and for connecting with each of you as I dive back into creating fitness content and writing valuable hiking-related blogs. I may stumble along the way, but I’m embracing the journey with open arms.

As I embark on this journey of rediscovery and reconnecting with my passion for the outdoors, I’m reminded of the importance of prioritizing our lives. In my next blog post, I’ll delve into the topic of prioritization—exploring strategies for finding balance amidst the chaos of daily life, carving out time for the things that truly matter, and nurturing our mental and physical well-being. Join me as we explore practical tips and insights on how to prioritize self-care, pursue our passions, and embrace the beauty of living intentionally.

I’d love to hear from you too! Drop a comment below letting me know what topics you want me to touch on or share your own experiences with prioritization. Together, let’s navigate the complexities of modern life and discover the joy of living with purpose and clarity.

Until next time, happy trails!
